Christmas is the time of year
To share gifts with joy and cheer.
To celebrate our Savior’s birth,
God the Creator, came to earth.
He was born on straw and hay;
Not in a hospital like today.
There was no room in the hotel
For the man who conquered hell.
He never owned a house or car,
Yet wise men came from afar.
Gold and perfume they did bring
To honor the boy who would be King.
Jesus grew up as a carpenter;
Not at a resort with jewels and fur.
He was humble and very wise
And always helped the hurting cries.
He healed the sick and the lame,
And gave a blessing on all who came.
He rebuked sin and exposed lies.
The prostitute he forgave and didn’t despise.
It seemed that all was lost,
When He was nailed to the cross.
He had to pay for our sin;
God showed His love … our hearts to win.
Yes, forgiveness you can receive,
If you repent and believe
That Jesus died for your sin;
He was put in the grave, but He rose again.
